Olivier Giroud has been insistently linked with a move to the MLS, and the Los Angeles FC are making waves to put him under contract. On the other hand, the Frenchman plans to take his time in deciding his future, and nothing is imminent, La Gazzetta dello Sport relays (via Tuttomercatoweb).

Milan won’t pressure on the striker. Despite their plans to sign an up-and-coming center-forward, they’d be happy to have him as a mentor and part-time starter for another year. They’d re-up his contract with the same wages in that event.

The Los Angeles FC have obtained the discovery rights to negotiate with Giroud exclusively for a certain period of time, which gives them a leg up over other MLS teams. They already have Hugo Lloris on their roster. Giorgio Chiellini finished his playing career and started his next one behind the desk with them.

The forward will soon turn 38. The call isn’t only a matter of money but rather sensations. He will take into great consideration his family’s wishes.

Giroud will have to decide between a starring role at Los Angeles FC or a more secondary one at Milan, but there’ll be plenty of game time to go around next season, considering the new Champions League format.

The veteran moved to Italy in the summer of 2021. He has scored 46 goals and provided 2 assists in 121 matches with the Rossoneri, contributing in particular to their Scudetto. He’s on track for his most prolific campaign since transferring to the Peninsula.
