Diego Llorente is happy to have returned to Roma this summer.

After last season's loan spell from Leeds, the Spain defender is now back with the Giallorossi.

He told Radio Radio: "The training camp is going well, we are reaching our goals, things are getting better every day. We know there is a long way to go but also where have to improve. So far the balance is certainly positive.

"Yes, as far as I'm concerned, I had clear ideas. I wanted to continue here, an agreement was not reached to join Roma permanently but what interested me was to be here and help Roma achieve their goals.

"(Jose) Mourinho had a lot of influence but many parts did it. The club, the coach, the teammates for the way they welcomed me: I immediately told my agent that I wanted to come back here.

"I knew Mourinho from Real Madrid where I often trained with the first team. He's a very direct person who knows how to convey things."

On Leeds teammate Rasmus Kristensen joining him at Roma, Llorente also said: "He's a very complete player who can give a lot in defense and attack. I'm sure he'll help us a lot, he's got character, a good physique: I think he's a great signing that will come in handy."
