Leicester City boss Dean Smith was satisfied with their 1-1 draw at Leeds on Tuesday.

Jamie Vardy struck in the 80th minute via James Maddison's pass before having a potential winner ruled out for offside.

Leeds winger Luis Sinisterra had opened the scoring in the first half with a header from Jack Harrison's cross.

Smith said, "It probably was [fair] because of the chances they had at the end. They scored against the run in play but we have to do better from the throw-in. There was a lot of character and we created the bigger moments until that set-piece at the end.

"James Maddison has a lot of technical ability and he handles the ball well but it's what we have expected from him.

"At half-time I thought we might have to change it but we started the second half well and were fairly dominant. Then we needed to threaten their last line a little more and we certainly did that with the players who came on.

"It's optimistic because they are good players. We can be a good team. If we cut out the lapses of concentration from set-pieces we'll be fine.

"We probably should have another one where Patson Daka squares it. I've not seen it back but we thought that would be enough to win the game."
