Lazio sporting director Igli Tare is still keen to sign free agents Jerome Boateng and Nikola Maksimovic this summer.

As reported by Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the Biancocelesti are looking to strengthen their defense this summer, with the departures of Wesley Hoedt and Mateo Musacchio freeing up space in the squad.

Tare has identified free agents Boateng and Maksimovic as top options; Both players’ contracts will expire with Bayern Munich and Napoli respectively at the end of this month, and would be strong low-cost reinforcements, allowing the club to invest more heavily in other areas of the squad.

Lazio are already in talks with their agent Fali Ramadani, although this may only be related to their ongoing talks with Maurizio Sarri, who is the club’s top replacement for Simone Inzaghi.

The club are likely to secure a new coach first before pulling the trigger on any transfer deals.
