Rade Krunic penned a personal letter to Milan fans following his transfer to Fenerbahce, thanking the club and their supporters.

The 30-year-old Bosnian midfielder quickly fell down Stefano Pioli’s pecking order in the Lombardy capital this term, making a departure this month a certainty as the transfer window approached.

Krunic joined Fenerbahce on a six-month loan deal with a €5m total conditional obligation to buy clause attached, linking to the Turkish giants avoiding relegation, essentially making it a definitive transfer.

Taking to his Instagram page, Krunic sent a message to the Milan fans following his move, thanking them for his positive time at the club.

“After 4 and a half years I probably have a lot to say, but I’ll stop at thanking you. I will start with a big thank you to Paolo, Ricky and Zvone for giving me the chance to play in this great club. Thanks to Mister Pioli for all these years, to his trust in me and his respect for me.

“Thanks to the technical staff, the medical staff, to all the people who work at Milan who helped me in every way to make my personal life easier. Thanks to all the fans who were able to respect me, my dedication and desire to help the team.

“And above all thanks to my teammates. You know what I think of you as people and as players. Even in the many difficult moments, you never abandoned me, on the contrary you helped me overcome everything and become the best person. I love you.

“Thank you for everything and ALWAYS FORZA MILAN.”

Krunic joined Milan from Empoli in the summer of 2019 in a deal worth around €8.6m. During his four and a half years at the club, the Bosnian midfielder made 139 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing six assists.

He was part of the squad that won the Scudetto in the 2021-22 season and helped the club reach the Champions League semi-finals last term.
