Leeds United fired manager Jesse Marsch on Monday.
His exit was announced in a 95-word statement issued 24 hours after Leeds had lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest.
That result was Marsch's 16th defeat in 37 games as Leeds boss.
The American had led Leeds to victory in 11 of those matches, drawing 10.
Leeds scored 52 goals and conceded 60 during the Marsch era, which lasted 343 days.
The Yorkshire club finished 17th in the Premier League last season, avoiding relegation by a margin of three points.
Leeds are 17th again this season with 18 games left to play.
Three members of Marsch's coaching staff were also dismissed on Monday.
The club statement read in full: "Leeds United can confirm head coach Jesse Marsch has been relieved of his duties.
"Jesse joined the club in February 2022 and was instrumental in keeping the club in the Premier League on the final day of last season.
"Rene Maric, Cameron Toshack and Pierre Barrieu will also leave the club.
"We would like to thank Jesse and his backroom staff for their efforts and wish them well for the future.
"The process of appointing a new head coach is underway and we will continue to keep supporters up to date throughout the coming days."
