A superb strike from Jean-Philippe Krasso helped hosts Ivory Coast beat Guinea-Bissau in the opening game of the Africa Cup of Nations.

Krasso lit up Alassane Ouattara Stadium in the 58th minute on Saturday night with a piece of individual skill that will likely see him nominated for the Goal of the Tournament award.

Jonathan Bamba's attempted cross for Krasso was initially intercepted by Opa Sangante but the defender was unable to control the ball, which deflected high into the air.

Sangante then tried to hoof clear but he was beaten to the ball by Krasso, who coolly flicked it over the center-back's head.

Krasso's second touch cleverly took the ball further away from Sangante before he executed a stunning flying volley into the net from 10 yards.

The celebration was almost as impressive as the goal itself as Krasso further displayed his athletic ability by performing a somersault.

The Red Star Belgrade forward's goal wrapped up a 2-0 victory for the Ivory Coast after Seko Fofana had earlier fired his side into a fourth-minute lead.
