'I’ve no doubt' – Gold claims club is working on a deal to sign ‘phenomenal’ Tottenham player in January

Tottenham defender Joe Rodon is really enjoying his time at Leeds United.

The defender joined the Championship team on loan in the summer and has been on great form since then.

His performances have earned him the admiration of Leeds fans, and he has become an integral part of the team’s backline.

Under his influence, Leeds boasts one of the best defensive records in the Championship, with a number of clean sheets, and only conceding 18 goals in 18 games.

According to Alasdair Gold, Leeds United are keen on signing the ‘phenomenal’ Welshman on a permanent transfer. He suggests that they could even work on speeding up a move for the defender to try and get him in January.

Speaking on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, he said:

“I think for Joe Rodon, if I’m Joe Rodon I wouldn’t even want to go back to Spurs anyway.”

“He’s been smashing it at Leeds and I’ve no doubt they want to keep him. I wouldn’t be shocked in January if they tried to set up a deal to sign him permanently whether that’s at the end of the season or something, he’s just been phenomenal for them.”

TBH Says:

Rodon has found it hard to find playing time at Tottenham and has spent most of the time away on loan spells.

But he seems to have rediscovered his confidence at Elland Road, and he’s arguably playing the best football of his career right now.

Spurs have already signed Micky van de Ven and are expected to sign another defender in January.

That makes it highly unlikely for Rodon to get a chance at Spurs. A permanent move for him would help him advance his career and would bring in decent cash for Spurs.
