Italian journalist Sandro Sabatini feels Inter Milan have become weaker this season after losing the services of several key players.

The Nerazzurri parted ways with the brilliant Andre Onana who served admirably between the sticks last season. He joined Manchester United after spending a solitary season at the Giuseppe Meazza,

Legendary captain Samir Handanovic also left after seeing out his contract. The same goes for Milan Skriniar, Danilo D’Ambrosio, Roberto Gagliardini and Edin Dzeko.

For his part, influential midfielder Marcelo Brozovic completed a switch to Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr.

As for Romelu Lukaku, Inter decided to drop out of the race for his signature due to his controversial behavior.

Italian Journalist Sandro Sabatini Explains Why Inter Milan Possessed A Stronger Squad A Year Ago

Despite adding some fresh blood to the equation (the likes of Thuram, Frattesi and Bisseck), Italian journalist Sandro Sabatini sees Inter Milan as a weaker side this season compared to last term.

“Inter remain a solid side and they are good to go. But they aren’t as strong as they were a year ago. This is there for all to see,” reckons the journalist during an interview with Radio 24 via FcInter1908.

“When we compare those who left with the ones who arrived, Inter are now a little weaker.

“For instance, the centre-forward knot is a bit hidden but it is the most decisive one to solve because on paper, they lost 40 goals that Dzeko and Lukaku would have guaranteed.

“As for the goalkeepers, Yann Sommer is good. But seeing Inter struggling for an extended period of time to finalize a transfer for 5 or 6 million makes you smile bitterly.

“There was a time when the presidency and ownership of Inter were undoubtedly more effective.”
