ISIS threatens a terrorist attack on stadiums hosting Champions League quarter-finals this week, as per reports

Europe’s most prestigious competition in club football makes a return this week. Fans are thrilled at the prospect of top teams like Manchester City and Real Madrid going head-to-head while Bayern Munich take on Arsenal. While the first set of games get underway in less than a day’s time, news of a potentially harmful attack broke the internet.

As per multiple reports on the internet, terrorist group Islamic State have threatened to attack the four stadiums that will host the first-leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals. The stadiums in order, are the Emirates, the Santiago Bernabeu, Parc des Princes and the Civitas Metropolitan Stadium in Madrid. The message was released on Monday, 8th of April.

The ‘poster’, which reads ‘Kill them all‘ was released by Al Azaim Foundation, an outlet primarily responsible for propagating messages by the Islamic State.

The terrorist organization’s most recent attack came less than three weeks ago, when several armed men opened fire on a crowd gathered in a banquet hall. The attack left several hundreds dead and many more injured.

Manchester City to miss crucial player in Champions League quarter-final clash against Real Madrid

The footballing community has been counting down the days after defending Champions League winners Manchester City were drawn to face Real Madrid in the quarter-final. While many wanted the two sides to face each other later in the competition, a fair amount of supporters believe that the winner between the two will go on to lift the title.

Prior to the match-up, Manchester City released an official statement confirming that Kyle Walker will be unavailable to make the trip to the Santiago Bernabeu. The right-back picked up a hamstring injury while on international duty and hasn’t featured in any of City’s games ever since. This disappointed the fans as the clash between Walker and Vinicius Jr. last season was one for the ages.

Nathan Ake, Kyle Walker & Jòsko Gvardiol are ruled out of the Madrid showdown due to injury. That leaves City without a natural left-sided defender to complete the back three.

In that match, Cityzens beat the Los Blancos 5-1 on aggregate. However, things have changed this year. Madrid have Jude Bellingham , Vinicius and Rodrygo Goes at their disposal while City are currently without Josko Gvardiol , Walker and Nathan Ake .
