Inter Milan Consider Ditching Ex Juventus Goalkeeper In Favor Of Argentina International

Inter Milan could decide to replace their current backup goalkeeper Emil Audero with Atalanta’s Juan Musso next summer.

The Nerazzurri revamped the whole goalkeeping department last summer following the departures of Andre Onana and Samir Handanovic.

Yann Sommer arrived from Bayern Munich to stake his claim for the Number One role.

For his part, Emil Audero joined as an understudy for the Switzerland international. He signed on loan from Sampdoria with an obligation to buy on certain conditions.

The 27-year-old has only featured twice in the starting lineup this season. He played in the 3-3 draw with Benfica in the Champions League and the Coppa Italia elimination at the hands of Bologna.

According to Tuttosport via FcInter1908, the Nerazzurri are considering ditching Audero in favor of Musso.

As the source tells it, the Argentine’s purchase would cost almost the same as Audero’s buy clause (set at 6.5 million euros).

The Turin-based newspaper explains that the Nerazzurri are looking to pair Sommer with another reliable keeper next season, as the club will have various commitments, including the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

The 29-year-old’s contract with Atalanta will expire in 2025, which explains the relatively low asking price.

The former Udinese man is an Argentina international player who won the Copa America in 2021.
