'I couldn’t thank him enough' – Levi Colwill on what Chelsea legend has helped him with

Chelsea defender Levi Colwill has just lifted the Euros trophy with England U21s, and next week he is expected back at Chelsea to hopefully join them on the USA tour ahead of a new season.

There has been a lot said about Colwill’s future of late, but the fact is that he remains a Chelsea player and he very much looks like he will be part of Mauricio Pochettino’s plans going forward, a key part in fact.

Whilst playing at the Euros, Colwill was also able to work alongside one Chelsea in the shape of Ashley Cole, who is on the backroom staff at England. Cole was back at Chelsea at the end of last season working as part of Frank Lampard’s staff, and you can bet that he’s had a very positive influence on Colwill this summer.

One thing he has done is help him with his passing techniques, according to Colwill himself.

In words picked up by The Daily Mail, Colwill said: “Me and Ash have had conversations about anything that will help me. Ash gave me a big bit of advice for when I try to break lines and hit a pass with a lot of power. Normally, my right foot goes in front of the ball. He showed me; I hadn’t even noticed. At training the next day, I made a pass with my right foot behind the ball. I couldn’t thank him enough. It’s those little things that no one has ever told me.”
