Tottenham Hotspur secured the services of Welsh youngster Brennan Johnson from Nottingham Forest back in the summer.

Spurs signed the wide forward on a six-year deal for a substantial transfer fee of €55 million on deadline day of the summer transfer window.

Johnson has been a standout performer in recent matches, particularly shining as a super substitute, contributing crucial goals and assists late in games.

In his last 10 league appearances, Johnson has notched three goals and provided four assists, showcasing his impact on the pitch.

His most recent contribution came in Tottenham’s convincing 4-0 victory over Aston Villa, where he found the back of the net.

According to Alasdair Gold, the correspondent for Football London covering Tottenham, the right-winger is highly regarded as a popular figure within the club behind the scenes.

He believes that Spurs’ #22 possesses all the necessary attributes to become a top player in North London.

Speaking on the Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham podcast, Gold emphasised Johnson’s popularity among teammates and staff, highlighting his intelligence and commitment to improvement.

He said:

“He’s a very well-liked guy around the club, he’s a very willing learner, very clever guy.

“Very popular figure behind the scenes and very much, I’ve said before, but a real belief in what he can become.

“We’re only seeing the very early version of Brennan Johnson right now, he’s got all of the tools to be a real top player.”

While primarily operating as a right-winger, Johnson has also demonstrated significant potential when deployed on the left side of the attack.

With promising performances like these, Johnson’s trajectory suggests he could become a significant asset for Spurs in the seasons to come.
