Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani appears to confirm the Rossoneri will try to sign Joshua Zirkzee in the summer and claims the team won’t change much in 2024-25.

Furlani spoke to Sky Sport Italia minutes before kick-off in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-final between Milan and Roma at San Siro.

“Milan enjoy European matches. There is great enthusiasm and a thrilling atmosphere. Our fans are amazing as usual, it will be a nice game,” said Furlani, as quoted by Milannews.

Milan owner Gerry Cardinale is in Milan and met the team before the match on Thursday.

“Gerry is enthusiastic, he’s always busy looking at the present and the future with us,” said Furlani.

“We want to grow and do well.

“We are focusing on the present. It’s an important match, and we want to end the season well. The present is our future.”

Furlani had said in a recent interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport that Milan would not turn the team upside down during the summer and confirmed the Rossoneri’s plans tonight.

“We changed a lot last year, this one will be different,” he reiterated.

“We must enjoy the players we have today, if new signings are required, we won’t hide. We want to build a competitive team every year to win.”

It is no secret that Bologna star Zirkzee is among Milan’s priorities for the summer. When asked whether the Dutch striker is worthy of the Rossoneri jersey, Furlani replied with a smile: “You’ve seen him play, so tell me about it…”
