The World Cup winner passed away on Saturday, October 21, and his funeral will take place at Manchester Cathedral on Monday 13 November at 14:00 GMT.

Manchester United have confirmed that the funeral cortege will pass Old Trafford on its way to the cathedral. Fans and members of the public are invited to pay their respects along the route that afternoon.

Those looking to pay their respects at Old Trafford are advised to use the E2 car park and arrive at the East Stand forecourt from 13:00, with the funeral procession expected to pass in front of the Trinity Statue at approximately 13:30.

It will be an emotional occasion as we say goodbye to a man who epitomised Manchester United. From coming through the youth academy, the Munich air disaster, winning the European Cup and later becoming a trusted director as well as ambassador.

The service – to be led by Canon Nigel Ashworth — at Manchester Cathedral is set to begin at 14:00, and it will include eulogies by family members and the football club.

It will be a private ceremony and won’t be broadcast or filmed.

The family have asked for no flowers, so it is worth donating to charities close to Sir Bobby Charlton such as: Sir Bobby Charlton Foundation, The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT), Alzheimer’s Society, Alzheimer’s UK.
