Former Napoli and PSG striker Ezequiel Lavezzi has been rushed to a hospital in Uruguay following a stabbing, reports El Observador.

The ex-Argentina international was taken to the Sanatorio Cantegril de Maldonado, Uruguay, on Tuesday morning, the Uruguayan paper reports.

Lavezzi was rushed to the hospital with a wound to the clavicle. Police sources quoted by El Observador claim the Argentinean was stabbed by one of his family members after an argument over money.

Sky Sport Italia doesn’t confirm Lavezzi was stabbed by a family member, but doesn’t even clarify why the Argentinean was taken to the hospital.

The former Napoli forward has recently featured on Italian TV as a pundit for Amazon Prime Video Italia for Napoli’s Champions League games.

The 38-year-old joined Napoli from Argentinean side San Lorenzo in 2007 and spent five seasons with the Partenopei, scoring 48 goals in 188 appearances.

He joined PSG for €30m in 2012 and netted 35 times in 161 appearances with the Ligue 1 giants.
