Fabio Capello Defends Allegri: 'Juventus Don’t Have Mbappé or Vinicius'

Legendary Italian manager Fabio Capello defends Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri, pointing the finger at the club’s lack of star power.

“An attacking treident? It’s not that the more attackers you field the more goals you score. Allegri doesn’t have Mbappé or Vinicius up front to deploy three strikers.

“Chiesa is more dangerous starting from the wing, but who could play with him and Vlahovic? Yildiz is a talent, but he is still developing. Kean has just returned from injury. Perhaps the only one who could play on the opposite side to Chiesa is Cambiaso.

“But if Allegri insists on the 3-5-2 it is because he thinks he has more balance and guarantees. No coach would shoot himself in the leg.”

Moreover, the 77-year-old feels that Juventus need around four reinforcements to become competitive again.

“Juve needs at least four new signings, but top-level ones. The coach must have a say in the signings.

“Atalanta’s Koopmeiners is a good player, but he needs to be tested with a heavy shirt like Juve’s.

“The Bianconeri, however, will need at least two quality midfielders. Then a full-back and an attacker or a winger who can skip past his marker and create numerical superiority.”
