Everton boss Sean Dyche praised Andre Gomes after their FA Cup replay win against Crystal Palace.

The Blues won 1-0 on Wednesday night thanks to Gomes' strike.

Dyche said: "We know he's had a really up and down time with injuries, and I said to him when he came back and we dealt with him this pre-season I said, 'Look, I can see you in part of what we do'.

"Obviously, at that time, he was unsure if he was going to be here or not but he's here and he's had injuries, he's been up and down with fitness and he's still got to get true fitness but he can play - he's a very good player, technically. Finding the right slot for him... I don't think he's a true No.10 but I think he can deal with the ball in there.

"I think he found his way into the game tonight and grew as it went on. We took him off because we're being careful with his body and careful to get him up to true fitness."
