Inter and Denzel Dumfries couldn’t agree to an extension during the Autumn, which fueled rumors about his exit next summer since his deal is up in 2025. However, the player recently changed his mind and could lower his request, La Gazzetta dello Sport informed.

The wingback currently makes €2.5M. The Nerazzurri tendered €4M net plus add-ons. His camp reportedly asked for €5.5M, which was considered excessive by the team.

Inter and the entourage of Dumfries have reprised talking last week. The Dutchman is having second thoughts about leaving an elite team and especially a close-knit group.

The Nerazzurri are willing to negotiate and would eventually collaborate with his representatives on a way out if they couldn’t find common ground. Despite his inconsistency and defensive flaws at times, it wouldn’t be easy or cheap to find a wingback as impactful in the final third when he’s cooking.
