Doctor says Tottenham attacker could be out longer than initially expected

Tottenham Hotspur have struggled with injuries throughout the ongoing campaign.

More than 20 players from Ange Postecoglou’s squad have been sidelined with injuries at various points during the season.

Among them is Spurs summer signing Manor Solomon, who has been sidelined since October last year.

He suffered a meniscus injury to his right knee, which required surgery and an extensive recovery process.

Despite initial hopes for a swift return, the 24-year-old underwent another minor knee surgery, casting further uncertainty over his availability for the remainder of the season.

Solomon could be out for longer than initially expected

Dr. Rajpal Brar states that the surgery Solomon underwent was a complicated one, and it may take longer to recover from it.

He told Tottenham News:

“His latest procedure was meniscus related and there are multiple options there in terms of the specifics, which haven’t been provided by the club as it is a complicated one.

“He has now been out for an extended amount of time with multiple procedures which typically creates a longer runway for rehab so he could even be out longer than initially expected.

“With that in mind, it is really difficult to say where exactly he is with his rehab as these are still the initial stages and we’ll have a clearer idea towards the end of May.

“The team will surely be working on his strength, mobility and neuromuscular control but there is a large range there depending on specifics.”

The Lilywhites secured the signing of Manor Solomon from Shakhtar Donetsk last summer on a free transfer, taking advantage of a FIFA ruling that permitted foreign players in Russia and Ukraine to unilaterally suspend their contracts amid the conflict in the region.

He has managed to provide two assists in his brief playing time, totalling 198 minutes across 5 appearances in the Premier League this season. (Transfermarkt)

Solomon’s absence has spanned approximately six months, causing him to miss 27 games for the club during this period.
