Brighton midfielder Gilmour: Scotland can finish first in Euro group

Brighton midfielder Billy Gilmour insists Scotland are capable of upsetting Spain in their Euro 2024 qualifying group.

Tuesday's 2-0 win over Georgia means the national team have won their four opening matches for the first time. Victory in Cyprus will confirm the Scots for the Euros.

Gilmour said, "Can we win the group? It's possible. We have started really well. We have to take each game as it comes but we want to win every game. So why not?

"Reaching the Euros is a real possibility now. We want to be there and we can't lie about that.

"Hopefully, we can finish strong and make sure we are in Germany. There is a confidence among the boys and we know what we want to do. Everyone knows the aim.

"We have a good enough team. We have great players throughout the squad and we want to be in Germany. There are no two ways about it."
