Brentford boss Thomas Frank is expecting big things from Mikkel Damsgaard this season.
Frank feels the former Sampdoria winger will be stronger after a first campaign in the Premier League.
"He arrived after a difficult year with injuries and illness," Frank recalled.
"Normally it will take a year before you are back. He came to a new country and league, and that also requires something extra.
"He has been good in the pre-season. He came back in good condition. I am excited for him this season.
"We know he has the skills to find a pass, score goals and set up other players and hopefully that is what we will see from him this season. It looks promising."
