Bayern Munich great Matthaus: Tuchel has made the team WORSE

Bayern Munich great Lothar Matthaus has taken aim at coach Thomas Tuchel.

Former Chelsea manager Tuchel stepped in after the sacking of Julian Nagelsmann, but has battled to get Bayern on the rails.

Matthaus told BILD: "It is clear that many mistakes were made even before the change of coach, which ultimately led to this situation. But the team, which was still on the way to the treble under Nagelsmann, is playing worse under Tuchel.

"The squad is individually so strong that you have to at least become league champions, but the team doesn't work because everyone is so busy with themselves. Tuchel has increased that obscurity because in his press conferences, which I think is a bit strange, he always talks about how difficult everything is and what doesn't work - instead of standing up for the team."
