Inter Milan risk missing out on Gianluca Scamacca despite the player’s preference, as Atalanta are willing to splash the cash.

This summer the Nerazzurri have thus far replaced Edin Dzeko and Romelu Lukaku with Marcus Thuram. The Frenchman completed a free transfer following the expiry of his contract with Borussia Monchengladbach.

Thus, the management still needs to add another profile to the frontline. In recent days, Scamacca emerged as the favorite candidate.

But while Inter’s offers remain off the mark, another Serie A club is ready to hijack the operation.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Atalanta are ready to splash the cash on Scamacca.

The Orobici are on the verge of selling young Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund to Manchester United for a whopping 84 million euros.

This operation will provide La Dea with the necessary funds to launch an onslaught on Scamacca.

West Ham Striker Gianluca Scamacca Wants Inter Milan Move, But Atalanta Have Placed A Significantly Higher Offer

So while Inter are only offering 24 million euros plus 4 million as bonuses, Atalanta are willing to go beyond 30 million, leaving their rivals in the dust.

Moreover, The Bergamo-based club would grant West Ham a percentage in case of a future resale.

For his part, the Italian striker has given his preference to Inter Milan. He would like to play for the Nerazzurri in the Champions League. On the other hand, Atalanta would only offer him Europa League football.

But unless Inter improve their offer, the Hammers are unlikely to grant the player safe passage towards the Giuseppe Meazza, especially with a substantially higher offer on the table.
