Another Brighton player now under consideration by Chelsea according to journalist

Another Brighton player has been placed ‘under consideration’ by Chelsea for this summer transfer window, according to a report from a journalist this week.

Chelsea want to sign a new striker, that has been clear for some time now. But they will be looking at a host of other positions that they may want to try and upgrade in as well come the end of the season. The summer window is always much busier than in the winter window, due to it being longer and clubs much more willing to sell their players when they are not halfway through a season.

So a new striker certainly remains Chelsea’s priority, and the names continue to come in. Ben Jacobs has the latest updates on a few names via his article with 90min this week.

Jacobs claims that Brighton’s Evan Ferguson is under consideration at Chelsea, with several members of the club’s recruitment team fans of the 19-year-old.

Ferguson has had a quieter season this season and has dropped off it a bit in terms of form, so I would be surprised if Chelsea do end up going all out to sign him.

Victor Osimhen is the most talked about target, and claims in Italy recently even suggested that Chelsea had been in discussions with Napoli regarding a swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku going the other way.

But Jacobs has thrown some serious shade over those links.

He says Chelsea have not offered Romelu Lukaku as a makeweight in a possible deal for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen. Negotiations are not underway yet with Chelsea considering several striker options and assessing their summer budget, so it looks like their is no favourite or clear frontrunner at the moment. It also looks like Chelsea are very much trying to keep their cards close to their chests right now.
