Adam Lallana Praises 'Aggressive' Jordan Henderson

Someone who knows Henderson better than anyone is his former midfielder partner, Adam Lallana.

Henderson and Lallana played with each other for six years at Liverpool and created an amazing friendship, on and off the pitch.

In a recent article for The Times, Lallana was saying how it 'frustrates' him that Henderson isn't compared with other top midfielders in the world.

“His leadership skills are often mentioned above his football quality. That still frustrates me - the only reason I can think of is that he’s not the same on the eye as other players regardless of being able to do what they can." said Lallana.

“He can also be aggressive in his mannerisms, shouting, coaxing, organising, so maybe that side of his game is highlighted more. He passes the ball quickly and is selfless in his performances; someone who worries more about other people than himself.”

The former Liverpool player went on to say how important the Liverpool skipper was to the recent success at Anfield and how he'll help the England camp keep a steady head during their EUROs run.

“When Liverpool were going for the title in 2019-20, he was always driving standards, refusing to countenance any complacency and simply focusing on the next game. That attitude becomes infectious. He drove us forward.

“Having spent so much of my career around Henderson, it is not hard for me to picture how he will have been around the England camp since Tuesday’s win.” Lallana said.

“And so while the rest of the country has started to dream, Henderson will not have allowed anyone to underestimate Ukraine. He would have been ensuring that performance and preparation remained at the highest level.

“It is a powerful message because it reinforces to everyone that taking your foot off the gas is unacceptable. The team ethic becomes stronger as a result.”

England successfully dispatched of Ukraine 4-0 to advance to the semi-finals with the help of Jordan Henderson. Hendo scored his first England goal and you could see how much it meant to him and the team.

If England are to win the EUROs, then Henderson will of been a massive part. Not just with the team spirit but as a leader and a mentor to all the players.
