Tottenham Hotspur have informed defender Joe Rodon that he will be moved on in the near future.

A report from HITC claims that the Premier League side have informed the 26-year-old defender that he is not a part of their future plans.

Rodon is currently on loan at Leeds United and he has been very impressive for the Championship outfit. The 26-year-old has established himself as a key player for Leeds and he will be hoping to help them secure promotion back to the top flight.

Rodon will have to sort out his long-term future at the end of the season as well. He cannot hope to return to Tottenham where he will not get ample first-team opportunities.

At 26, he needs to play regularly and if Tottenham cannot provide him with that opportunity, he needs to join another club. It will be interesting to see where the Wales international ends up.

A permanent move to Leeds could be ideal for him.

The Championship outfit are currently pushing for promotion and it would be ideal if they manage to return to the Premier League and sign the Tottenham defender permanently. He has been a key player for them and Leeds should look to hold on to him.

Rodon would get to play regularly for Leeds in the Premier League and it would be the ideal solution for all parties. Spurs have already improved their defensive unit with multiple signings this season and they will not be able to accommodate the Wales international in the starting lineup anymore.
