The Nashville Predators finally made a trade as there have been rumors swirling and moves around the NHL happening. This came in the form of an Anthony Beauvillier acquisition.

That may not be the only news coming out of Nashville as Alexandre Carrier has been the player most talked about from the Predators recently regarding a potential trade. Pierre LeBrun reported that the Predators are listening to offers, but there are multiple directions the team could go.

The Predators are reportedly still talking extension with Carrier. If he signs one, this would mean he comes off the board this season. If an extension doesn't happen before the deadline, it doesn't mean that Nashville can't keep him around as their own rental. It appears as though this is the new way of thinking for teams on the bubble that should get into the postseason.

The third option is that Carrier could end up being traded if the offer makes too much sense. The pickings are now slim on the right side after Chris Tanev and Sean Walker have recently been taken off the board.

Barry Trotz indicated that he would like to have space for Spencer Stasney in the NHL before the end of the season. Stastney has played very well in the AHL and does deserve more time. This would entail moving a defender to make room. Until something happens, it is anyone's guess what the outcome for Carrier will be, but everything is on the table.
