NHL bets: Two goal scorer SGPs for some Friday fun on the ice

It's Friday in the NHL, a nice opportunity to move off the beaten path and opt for something a bit more fun in the prop markets. Two games in particular seem poised for plenty of offense, so let's try and aim down two of the most likely goal scorers from each game, shall we?

.5u: Boone Jenner & Jeff Skinner goals (+671 FanDuel)

Sabres at Blue Jackets, 7 p.m. ET

Boone Jenner has been rolling for the Blue Jackets with five goals in his last five games. That includes two goals the last time he skated on home ice. Jenner has been pummeling the puck on net of late, leading Columbus with 33 shots in his last 10 games.

These aren't just low-quality looks however. He's topping the team in expected goals over the past 10 games at 6.24 and he has 25 high-danger chances in this stretch, most among anyone on Columbus. Jenner has scored in two of his past three meetings with Buffalo.

The Sabres seem well-positioned to find plenty of shots and goals, and I'm optimistic that Jeff Skinner starts building a bit of a streak here for himself after snapping his nine-game scoreless draught on Wednesday.

Skinner has scored in two straight games against the Blue Jackets, and in a game I think the Sabres can score on the power play, it's Skinner that tops the group's PP skaters with 1.67 expected goals and seven high-danger chances in their last 10 games on the man-up advantage.

.5u: Zach Hyman & Joel Eriksson Ek goals (+586 FanDuel)

Wild at Oilers, 9 p.m. ET

Zach Hyman has been absolutely rolling on home ice, scoring 15 goals in his last 15 games in Edmonton. I love that streak to continue here, because despite these constant goals, the numbers suggest Hyman should be scoring even more based on the quality of his looks of late.

The Oilers are averaging 4.6 goals per game at home over the last 45 days while Minnesota is allowing nearly four on the road in that stretch, I expect plenty of Edmonton scoring here.

I also think the Wild are in a great spot for goals, particularly on the power play, where they've notched 10 goals in their last six games. Edmonton owns the third-worst penalty kill rate over the past month, so here's to Minnesota keeping the good times coming.

Eriksson Ek is my preference. He tops the top power play unit in expected goals with 3.1 in the last 10 games, and he loves seeing the Oilers, scoring in six of the past eight matchups. Eriksson Ek has seven goals in his last five games.

Good luck out there tonight, and do bet responsibly!
