There are just a few games tonight in hockey, which makes it all the easier to quickly circle the name of interest that looks best. We've got a pair of plays for the same shooter. Here's to a winning Friday as we head into the weekend.
Josh Morrissey and the Winnipeg Jets are facing an Anaheim Ducks team that is allowing nearly 37 shots per game at home over the last month, making them the most appealing team of the evening to get going offensively.
Morrissey is the preference for me. He just had six SOG last night, and he's now over this 2.5 shots number in seven of his last nine on the road. He's logged 4+ shots in six of his past eight as the visitor, offering us some value on his alternate line.
The Ducks are allowing the fifth-most shots to defensemen this season and in the last 10 games, and they are also handing out close to 4.8 power play opportunities per game over the past 20 days. That latter point could be the difference, as Morrissey is tied for second on Winnipeg in PP shots of late.
The past two times the Jets defensemen has seen the Ducks, he's finished with four SOG. We might as well extend that streak here tonight. Good luck!
