The New York Islanders enter their Tuesday night matchup losing four of their last five games. In the last month, they've only won four times and have lost on eight occasions (seven times in regulation).
With the recent cold streak, New York finds itself with an 18-20-7 overall record and 43 points, trailing four teams in the Eastern Conference wild-card standings. The Isles will be without one of their better players when they face one of the worst teams in the NHL on Tuesday in the first-season Seattle Kraken (16-32-4).

Wahlstrom was the Islanders' first-round pick in 2018 at 11th overall, and he is in his third professional season. Wahlstrom is currently fourth on the team in goals (10) and has added nine assists as well.
With 41 games played, the 21-year-old is four contests away from setting a new career-high in that category. Wahlstrom has already matched last season's high of nine helpers and is three scores away from surpassing last season's high mark of 12.
