Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Tony DeAngelo was issued a warning for "diving/embellishment" after he fell to the ice a little too easily during a game against the Arizona Coyotes on Oct. 31:

It appears DeAngelo didn't learn his lesson.
The NHL announced Thursday that DeAngelo has been fined $2,000 for an alleged dive that occurred in the first period of this past Saturday's matchup at the Florida Panthers. Florida defenseman Gustav Forsling was penalized for hooking on that play.
"NHL Rule 64 is designed to bring attention to and more seriously penalize players (and teams) who repeatedly dive and embellish in an attempt to draw penalties," the league explained in its statement.
A first diving offense carries no fine, but punishments increase per instance. Also, a head coach is fined once his team earns four monetary punishments for embellishment during a season:

As is always the case, fine money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
Per ESPN stats, DeAngelo leads Carolina with nine assists and has also contributed two goals through 11 contests. The 10-1-0 Hurricanes host the 6-3-2 Philadelphia Flyers on Friday night.
