Calgary Flames place Brad Richardson on waivers
richardson Sergei Belski-USA TODAY Sports

According to multiple reports, the Calgary Flames have placed forward Brad Richardson on waivers.

Richardson, 37, is signed for the 2021–22 season at an $800,000 cap hit. In 27 games with the Flames this season, he has two goals and four points.

If Richardson clears waivers, the Flames would be able to assign him to the American Hockey League prior to Monday’s trade deadline.

In doing so, the Flames would greatly increase their ability to further add to their club for the stretch run.

Richardson has appeared in just three games with the Flames since the beginning of February and has averaged 9:56 of ice-time with the team this season.

In 852 career National Hockey League games with the Flames, Nashville Predators, Arizona Coyotes, Vancouver Canucks, Los Angeles Kings, and Colorado Avalanche, Richardson has 109 goals and 250 points. He won the Stanley Cup with Darryl Sutter’s Kings in 2012.
