It’s the new year, and we got updates on two LA Kings prospects, Brandt Clarke and Jakub Dvořák.

Brandt Clarke

Brandt Clarke was named AHL Rookie of the Month for December. In 12 games with the Ontario Reign, Clarke recorded 14 points (2 G – 12 A). In five of those games, Clarke recorded multi-point games. On the season, he has 32 points (7 G – 25 A) in 30 games while playing top-pair minutes and in every situation (five-on-five, power play, and penalty kill).

Clarke is tied for third in scoring in the AHL with Mike Sgarbossa of the Hershey Bears and leads all rookie defensemen and defensemen in scoring. He is a unique talent. Congrats, Clarke!

Jakub Dvořák

Jakub Dvořák is moving to North America! On Tuesday afternoon, the Swift Current Broncos of the WHL announced they signed LA’s 2023 second-round draft pick.

Dvořák, 18, will most likely see top-four minutes as he was used as the 6th or 7th defenseman for Bílí Tygři Liberec of the Czechia league. Remember during the draft how there were mixed reviews from scouts on Dvořák’s skating? Well, we’ll finally be able to see it for ourselves. The Broncos’ next game is Wednesday, and we’ll see if Dvořák will slide into the lineup.
