Blackhawks Injury Update: Taylor Hall Out vs. Lightning But Will Return 'Soon'
Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

The Chicago Blackhawks will be without one of their top forwards for Thursday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Taylor Hall will not suit up when the Bolts come to town despite practicing on Wednesday.

Hall suffered a lower-body injury last Thursday in the Blackhawks' 5-3 win over Tampa Bay. It was a scary sight at first as his right knee got clipped along the boards late in the third period.

However, head coach Luke Richardson said Hall's injury looked worse on the ice than it was. Still, the veteran forward missed Sunday's game against the Florida Panthers.

Hall skated on his own when the Blackhawks returned to Chicago on Monday before taking rushes on the second line during Wednesday's practice.

Despite that positive outlook, the Blackhawks will give the 32-year-old a little extra time to heal up. Richardson expects Hall to return "soon," which likely means he'll be back in action at some point during the Blackhawks' back-to-back slate over the weekend.
