Blackhawks Get Nikita Zaitsev Back, Assign Filip Roos
Jamie Sabau-USA TODAY Sports

The Chicago Blackhawks made a pair of roster moves involving defensemen on Sunday morning. As Nikita Zaitsev returns from non-roster status, Filip Roos heads back to the AHL Rockford IceHogs.

Zaitsev was dealing with a personal matter earlier this week, causing him to miss the Blackhawks' games against the Tampa Bay Lightning and Nashville Predators. The 32-year-old has one goal in five games this season.

Roos didn't appear in a game for the Blackhawks after being recalled in Zaitsev's place on Thursday. The 24-year-old has four points (one goal, three assists) in 10 games for the IceHogs this season.

The Blackhawks will be back in action on Sunday night when they host the Buffalo Sabres. Puck drop is at 6 PM CT and the game will air on NBC Sports Chicago.
