Avalanche Recall Foudy, Pavel From AHL
Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

The Colorado Avalanche have recalled forwards Jean-Luc Foudy and Ondrej Pavel in advance of Wednesday’s game against the Detroit Red Wings.

Head coach Jared Bednar indicated that Logan O’Connor (lower-body injury) would be out for tonight’s game. Ryan Johansen was traded to the Flyers in the Sean Walker deal. Kurtis MacDermid was moved earlier in the week, leaving the Avalanche with ten forwards on the active roster.

Foudy made his season debut for the Eagles on January 12 after dealing with a lower-body injury. In 12 AHL games this year, the 21-year-old has two goals and six points. He appeared in nine NHL games last season but has yet to record a point.

The former third-round pick in 2020 is in his fourth AHL season. Foudy tallied a career-best 36 points (11-25-36) in 46 games last year.

Pavel is getting another look after making his NHL debut against the New Jersey Devils back in November. He recorded no points and a -1 in 6:59 time on ice. The 23-year-old has accumulated seven points (3-4-7) in 48 games for the Eagles this season.

Pavel was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Minnesota State last year. He played in six games, including four postseason games, to close out his season, collecting two assists.

Wednesday’s lineup will certainly have an interesting look until Wednesday’s acquisitions arrive.
