Week 7 NFL best teaser: A surprising duo provides value

Week 7 is here, and we're going with two teams that entered this season with less than high expectations. Yes, Tennessee has won back-to-back AFC South Division titles, but after trading star wide receiver A.J. Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles on draft night, most expected the Titans to regress this season. As for the New York Giants, well, they won just four games last year, and most had them finishing in last in the NFC under first-year head coach Brian Daboll. But neither has happened, and with both teams trending in the right direction, we're going to use both in this week's teaser.

Tennessee is coming off its bye week, and the Titans have yet to lose and are also perfect against the spread under Mike Vrabel following a bye week. And with the teaser, you don't even need Tennessee to win, you just need them to lose by no more than three points. That's worth betting on.

The Titans have covered the spread in three straight games, beat Indianapolis back in Week 4, and going back to 2020, have won four straight against the Colts. It certainly doesn't help that star linebacker Shaq Leonard might play this week for Indianapolis, but still, expect Derrick Henry and the Titans offense to do just enough to keep the Titans within three points of the Colts. Regardless of who wins, expect this game to be within a field goal, and probably low-scoring.

As for the final leg of our teaser, take the Giants (+9) against the Jaguars. Surprisingly, New York is getting points against Jacksonville despite starting the season 5-1, and have won three straight. But, hey, you won't hear us complain.

Saquon Barkley is looking like the player the Giants hoped he would after New York took him with No. 2 overall pick back in 2018, and the defense has allowed the seventh-fewest points in the league. And don't sleep on Daniel Jones. Jones threw two touchdowns last week against Baltimore, and is not turning the ball over as much as he did in the past. Jones has just two interceptions on the season, is completing 67% of his passes, and has a quarterback rating of over 90. Considering how Jones has played in the past, that's leaps and bounds much better.

Jacksonville is certainly capable of winning this game, but don't expect it to be by more than a touchdown, let alone nine points. Since starting the season 2-1, Jacksonville has lost three straight, and the Jaguars really struggled stopping the pass last week. Matt Ryan threw three touchdowns and for just under 400 yards last week against the Jags, and the Colts haven't exactly torched teams through the air this season.

Both these games should be close, why is why taking the Giants and Titans, both of whom are getting points via the teaser, is the way to go.

The Teaser: Tennessee Titans (-2.5) to (+3.5) AND New York Giants (+3) to (+9) (-104 odds via Barstool)
