Watch: Seahawks DT Rasheem Green blocks, returns extra point for two points

Washington took the lead just before halftime against the Seattle Seahawks, 9-7, but it was exceedingly short-lived Monday night. Seahawks defensive tackle Rasheem Green tied the game by blocking the extra point, recovering it himself and returning it the length of the field for two points.

Green, 24, became the first player to ever block, recover and score a defensive two-point conversion, according to ESPN Stats & Info. It's also the first time since 2019 that a team scored two points on a conversion with a defensive play.

To make matters worse for Washington, kicker Joey Slye appeared to injure his hamstring while trying to run down Green. Washington ruled him questionable to return and opted to go for two rather than kick after scoring a touchdown early in the second half.

A third-round pick for the Seahawks in 2018, Green is putting up career-best numbers in 2021. He entered Monday night with four passes defensed, eight quarterback hits and three sacks.
