Watch: Sam Howell, Dyami Brown connect for tying TD in final minute

On a third-and-10 from the Seattle Seahawks 35-yard line, Washington Commanders quarterback Sam Howell seemingly knew who he wanted to throw to before the ball was snapped.

The 23-year-old QB dropped back and waited patiently for Dyami Brown to get some separation in the middle of the field.

Though he was between three Seahawks defenders, Howell pushed the ball to him anyway and watched as the third-year WR plucked the pass out of the air and outran three additional Seahawks defenders to the end zone for the tying touchdown with just 52 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.

The touchdown – Brown’s first of the season and Howell’s 17th – tied the game at 26-26. The play boosted Washington's win probability by 32.2 percent per NextGen Stats. It was all for naught, though, as Seattle drove 50 yards on seven plays during its ensuing drive, which ended with a walk-off 43-yard field goal by Jason Myers.

Howell had thrown two other touchdown passes earlier in the game – a 51-yarder to Brian Robinson in the first quarter and a 19-yarder to Antonio Gibson in the fourth quarter.

It’s the third time this year Howell has had three or more touchdown passes in a game and the third time he’s thrown multiple touchdowns without an interception. It’s also the third straight game Howell has thrown for 300 or more yards.
