Watch: Addison gets revenge on Ward during 'MNF'

The NFL "script writers" were going crazy during Monday night’s game between the Minnesota Vikings and San Francisco 49ers.

49ers cornerback Charvarius Ward embarrassed Vikings receiver Jordan Addison in the first quarter of the game by snatching a Kirk Cousins throw right out of Addison’s hands. The play went down as an interception for Ward on just the third defensive play of the evening.

Give Addison a lot of credit, though. He didn’t mope around feeling sorry for himself. Instead, he waited for his chance and got Ward right back during Minnesota's 22-17 win.

Addison’s moment came at the end of the second quarter when he got into another 50-50 ball situation with Ward. This time around, it seemed like Ward had another pick in his grasp … only for Addison to rip it from his hands. Addison came away with his loot and took it all the way to the house for a momentum-swinging 60-yard touchdown right before halftime.

Here is a closer angle of the moment that Addison yanked it from Ward.

The rookie Addison also came down with a 20-yard touchdown from Cousins in the first quarter. He is emerging as Minnesota’s top wideout in the injury absence of Justin Jefferson and is already proving why he was a first-round pick in this year’s draft.

Meanwhile, the sixth-year DB Ward is known for trying to bully opposing wideouts. But his attempt to do so on Addison ended up backfiring almost as badly as it did with Ja’Marr Chase.
