Washington has talked to multiple teams about Trent Williams trade

Trent Williams may finally get his wish. The Washington football team has reportedly had discussions with multiple teams about a possible trade including the 31-year-old, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Williams' relationship with Washington has been deteriorating for a long time now, and it's pretty much unsalvageable at this point.

The Oklahoma product, who is one of the best left tackles in the NFL when healthy, sat out all last season during a dispute over how the team handled his medical care.

If he's not traded before the 2020 season, will he sit out again? That may be detrimental to his skill set.

However, a few teams are probably in the running to acquire Williams. The Cleveland Browns have both the money to offer him an extension and the draft capital to satisfy Washington's needs.

The Houston Texans could pick up Williams in the event things don't work out with Laremy Tunsil, but in this case, the Browns would have better chances.

Finally, the New York Jets have a need at tackle, and Williams could provide the necessary skills to protect quarterback Sam Darnold.

So quite clearly, there are plenty of suitors for Williams...Washington just needs to leave it strictly to business and get this deal done. It's not worth haggling over this relationship any more.
