Tommy DeVito’s agent under fire for trying to do New Jersey pizzeria dirty

New York Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito and his agent Sean Stellato have seemingly become overnight celebrities.

But perhaps their budding fame has gone to their head a bit after it was revealed that Coniglio’s Pizzeria and Bakery in Morristown, New Jersey, had canceled an upcoming appearance by DeVito because Stellato had doubled the rookie QB’s appearance fee from $10,000 to $20,000, according to Darren Rovell.

Stellato, who drew the ire of many on social media for the bad-faith move, downplayed any wrongdoing.

“It’s a shame that the restaurant promoted that they would have Tommy when we didn’t have a signed contract,” Stellato told Rovell. “We didn’t raise the price because nothing was ever agreed to.”

While Stellato maintains there’s no truth to the allegations, Coniglio’s owner, Nino Coniglio, sent Rovell a screenshot from his conversation with Stellato, seemingly proving that Stellato was lying about a price not being agreed to.

According to a flyer circulating on Facebook, Coniglio was planning to charge $50 per autograph with DeVito, which would have generated $12,500 in revenue and covered the $10K appearance fee while netting a small profit for the pizzeria.

DeVito became one of the more popular players in the NFL over the last month and a half as he took over the Giants starting QB job. He's gone 3-3 as a starter, passing for 1,032 yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions with a passer rating of 91.5 while (barely) keeping New York in the NFC playoff race.
