Tom Brady reportedly recruiting Julio Jones to join Buccaneers

Quarterback Tom Brady may or may not have known exactly one week ago that he'd be returning to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as their QB1 on NCAA Selection Sunday, but there's little question the G.O.A.T. has been plenty busy since the start of the midweek.

Buccaneers quarterbacks coach Clyde Christensen remarked that Brady presented him with a list of ways "we can be better" roughly "12 hours" after the 44-year-old ended his short-lived retirement, and a story emerged Wednesday claiming the seven-time Super Bowl champion recruited free-agent wide receiver Russell Gage to sign with Tampa Bay.

To the surprise of nobody, Brady apparently isn't done bringing big names to Florida.

FOX Sports' Skip Bayless reported Thursday that Brady reached out to seven-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Julio Jones, who learned the previous day he was being released by the Tennessee Titans after a single season with that organization.

Jones, who turned 33 this past February, was limited to 10 regular-season games during the 2021 campaign due to injuries and finished the year with career lows in catches (31), receiving yards (434) and touchdowns (one). That should, theoretically, make him a cheap option for a Super Bowl contender that already has Gage, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and a likely returning Rob Gronkowski in its passing attack.
