Titans Pass Rush Duo Landry And Key Have History Together

NASHVILLE - When it comes to football, teamwork, and communication are two essential keys, and when it comes to the newly formed pass rush duo for the Tennessee Titans, they have a headstart in those areas. 

Coming off reconstructive surgery to repair an ACL that cost him the entire 2022 season, Harold Landry hopes to return to the form he showed before the injury, while new pass rusher Arden Key is ready to accept a more prominent part in Tennessee. 

On Wednesday, Key, while speaking with the Nashville media, was asked about the process of getting to know Landry, and his answer was somewhat of a surprise.

"Me and Harold been knowing each other," said Key. "We trained together coming out of college."

"We were at X-O in Phoenix, so my and Harold's relationship has been going, and when I got here, it kicked off like it never left," Key said.       

While Landry and Key will likely begin the season as the starting edge rushers for the Titans, there is little proven depth behind them outside Rashad Weaver. 

One potential option to add depth to this position group is undrafted rookie Caleb Murphy from small-school Ferris State University. 

Key shared his thoughts on the rookie on Wednesday.

"Caleb is a young guy who is willing to learn. He's always asking questions, coming up to Harold or me, or coming to both of us at the same time," said Key. "He's a guy that's seeking knowledge, and he's doing what coaches are asking of him."   

"He's taking what he's learned off the field and trying it on the field," Key said. 

Considering Landry might not be back to form, at least early on this season, Key, Weaver, and a player like Murphy, should he earn a place on the 53-man roster, will be keys to improving the Titans pass rush and their entire defensive unit this season.
