Titans Jeffery Simmons is striking fear into a division rival
Andrew Nelles / The Tennessean-USA TODAY NETWORK

Standing at 6-foot-4 and 305 pounds, Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons is one of the most intimidating interior defensive linemen in the NFL.

Simmons was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2021 and 2022 for his play in the trenches with Tennessee and has continued to dominate in 2023. The 26-year-old is also striking fear into his division rivals.

In a recent interview with Kevin Clark on the This Is Football Podcast, Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne said that Simmons was the player he least likes being tackled by.

"Probably Jeffery Simmons," answered Etienne when he was asked who he least likes being tackled by. "It was like two weeks ago. We was running a double and he kind of hit a swim move. We were in the red zone, I didn't even know Jeffery was right there and he made his presence known. He smacked me. Simmons, he's probably like 380 pounds."

Can’t say I blame Etienne on this one. When he’s dialed in, Big Jeff is a one man man wrecking crew. He’s the type of defensive player that opposing offenses completely build their game plan around. He’s the type of defensive player than running backs are better off running away from.

Etienne learned that the hard way a few weeks ago when the Titans played the Jags in Jacksonville

Unfortunately for Etienne, he will have more date with Simmons this season. The Jaguars and Titans will meet again in the regular season finale on January 7th.
