Tiki Barber says he’ll call games with Matt Ryan, Andrew Catalon on CBS
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Tiki Barber revealed this week he has a new announcing assignment for CBS this fall. He’ll now be calling games with Andrew Catalon and Matt Ryan.

Barber dropped this info, Monday, during his radio show on WFAN. What’s intriguing is the addition of Ryan, his new accouncing partner. Ryan hasn’t officially retired from the NFL, as yet. But that might be a formality after the Colts released him earlier this year.

Last year, Tiki Barber was in the booth with Tom McCarthy for a smattering of games. Meanwhile, Catalon worked with James Lofton. And Ryan started at quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts. But the Colts are readying for a new quarterback. They drafted Anthony Richardson with the fourth pick, so Indy no longer needed Ryan.

Sports Business Journal reported earlier this year that Gumbel received a long-term deal with CBS. But he won’t be doing NFL games. You can find him doing more college basketball games.

CBS also still has Spero Dedes and Jay Feely in the booth together. Tom McCarthy doesn’t have an announced partner, as yet.

Early next month, Tiki Barber will present his brother, Ronde, for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
