Three WRs the Chiefs should target before the trade deadline

Even though the Kansas City Chiefs are 5-1, they still need another reliable pass-catcher besides tight end Travis Kelce. Here are three wide receivers they should target before the trade deadline on Oct. 31:

Brown has recorded 29 receptions for 334 yards and three TDs this season. Cardinals backup QB Joshua Dobbs is filling in for Kyler Murray (knee), so you'd think Brown's numbers would increase with an elite passer like Patrick Mahomes. Arizona (1-5) may listen to offers for the 26-year-old since he's in the final year of his rookie contract, and it could trade him to acquire more draft capital. Kansas City can afford to give up a pick, especially if the deal can increase its Super Bowl chances.

2. Mecole Hardman Jr., New York Jets

Per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Jets are looking for landing spots for Hardman Jr., who only has one catch for six yards in five games. The 25-year-old is an excellent fit for Kansas City despite his low production. He knows the team's offense since he played for the Chiefs from 2019 to 2022, helping them win two Super Bowls. Plus, his speed (4.33-second 40-yard dash) is an asset.

3. Darius Slayton, New York Giants

After a 1-5 start, the Giants might become sellers at the trade deadline. Moving on from Slayton — who has 17 receptions for 236 yards — makes sense. The 26-year-old would give the Kansas City receiving corps big-play ability. This season, he has logged four receiving plays of 20 yards or more. The only player on the Chiefs with more is WR Justin Watson (five), who could miss a few games with a dislocated elbow, via Fowler.
