Three best team fits for Georgia TE Brock Bowers

Georgia's Brock Bowers currently ranks as the best tight and No. 7 overall prospect on Pro Football Focus' big board after posting 175 catches for 2,538 yards and 26 touchdowns in the past three years.

Many believe he could fall in the 2024 NFL Draft due to several teams looking to trade up for the top quarterbacks and wide receivers. Bowers fell to the end of the first round In one of the latest mock drafts.

That feels unlikely to happen, but several teams ready to win now seem like they'll have a shot at landing the Georgia product. Here are the three best fits for Bowers.

New York Jets

The Jets, who currently own the No. 10 overall pick, seem like the earliest Bowers could be taken. They have already added former Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams to pair with Garrett Wilson but will likely look to continue bolstering QB Aaron Rodgers' arsenal for his return.

New York could use a difference-maker at tight end. Tyler Conklin has held the position for the last two years, but Bowers would help take the room to another level. Plus, Conklin is entering the final year of the three-year deal he signed ahead of the 2022 season.

Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals were linked to several tight ends in last year's draft but opted to sign veteran Irv Smith Jr. instead, who had just 115 receiving yards and one touchdown. They must learn from their mistake and not allow a similar scenario to play out in 2024 after signing veteran Mike Gesicki in free agency to a similar one-year deal.

Cincinnati's focus should be retaining wide receiver Tee Higgins, who requested a trade after being placed with the franchise tag. If the team entertains his request, wide receiver will likely be the pick at No. 18. If not, Bowers would be a great pick.

Indianapolis Colts

The Colts nearly made the playoffs last season with QB Gardner Minshew, but with the return of QB Anthony Richardson, the No. 4 overall pick in 2023, they should do whatever it takes to help him succeed.

Indianapolis has already done that by signing wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. to a three-year, $70 million deal and using its 2023 third-round pick on wide receiver Josh Downs. The next addition to the team should be a reliable tight end like Bowers, who could fall to pick No. 15.
