• Mississippi State football announced a revamped player development system led by a trio of familiar Bulldog faces: Greg Knox, Jason Washington and Gerri Green. The aim of the D.A.W.G. (Developing A Winning Gameplan) program is to help players find success on and off the field. Knox is serving as the director of career and professional development, Washington is the director of life skills and NFL liaison, while Green is the director of community engagement and former player liaison.

• Mississippi State basketball's radio show, "Dawg Talk" presented by Learfield, is back at Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux starting next Tuesday at 7 p.m. Men's coach Chris Jans and Sam Purcell will rotate with each being on the show every other week through the 2023 season. 

• As expected, the women's basketball team fell out of the rankings. It received 12 votes in the AP Top 25 (31st most votes), and 11 votes in the coaches' poll (again, 31st).
